While many athletes started competing as children, I didn't find Pickleball or Pickleball lessons until I moved to Arizona in 2020 and was in my 40's. I enjoyed a childhood of volleyball, taekwondo, softball and gymnastics but never a racket sport. I didn't know a soul when I moved, my children just went off to college and then Covid hit.
I was fighting the blues and knew a dose of sunshine would be good for the soul. That opportunity presented itself one night when I read on a Facebook post about a local hospital needing home made masks. I was decent on a sewing machine thanks to the summers I spent with my Grandma as a child. So off I went making hundreds of masks while sipping on wine and playing homage to the recent passing of Kenny Rogers while listening to his greatest hits on repeat. As fate would have it, a lady named Robin (whose picture is posted below) reached out to me needing a mask. She picked up that I was new to the area and must have sensed those Covid blues because she invited me to play Pickleball with her friends. I nervously accepted the invitation and wanted to learn pickleball. Little did I know that invite would change the trajectory of my life. We went from playing Pickleball a couple times a week to playing everyday for hours and sometimes twice a day! The Covid blues departed and something accidentally occurred, we got good! Not just good but really good and it happened fast due to our consistent training. Within 6 months I was in the best shape of my life, surrounded by a new circle of friends who shared my pickleball obsession. My original group was a mix of beginners and intermediate players. We decided to take our new hobby to a higher level and entered our first sanctioned tournament in the womens doubles bracket. To our amazement we walked away with our first silver medal. The Pickleball bug has since only grown and thus this journey leads me to you.

Kelly was born and raised in the midwest calling Kansas City her home for many years. She raised her two children Jacob and Skyler in the town of Lee's Summit, Missouri. She started her career in the real estate industry and helped hundreds find their perfect home. Her real estate scope expanded into rehabbing homes, rental portfolios, investment properties and managing her own team. In her early years of real estate she caught the eye of a television producer . A few months later she was hosting a television program featuring local real estate properties. While continuing to sell real estate she expanded into the television and modeling world where she has filmed hundreds of commercials, print media and even has a non-fiction film under her belt. She moved to the Phoenix area in 2020 and has moved into the private equity space while still working in real estate. Her love of pickleball has fueled her next career move into developing a place where family, fun and food can all collide together into a pickleball eatery. With a lot of work and a little luck she is hopeful for that dream to come into reality in 2024.
Outside of family and pickleball she has a long list of hobbies. In 2021 she got her helicopter's license for fun and a way to check more adventures off her travel list. After her adult children spread their wings and moved out she decided she needed a new baby...in the form of a four legged fur ball named Bailey. Where you spot Kelly you will likely find Bailey. Bailey is even know to join her on coaching session...someone has to fetch those out balls. Her most cherished time is when all of her loved ones are under the same roof...that is the only thing more precious to her than pickleball.
